Mrs. Morgan-Baker is retiring.........
Way back in the day, Leesa taught Home Economics 9-12 grades for seven years. After
obtaining her master’s degree in elementary education with an emphasis in early
childhood, she taught kindergarten for three years. The move to Colorado brought a
placement teaching middle school language arts/social studies in seventh and eighth
grades for seven years. Keeping to her passion for trying new things, she taught fourth
grade for one year. Upon completion of her Administrators’ certification she began her
administrative career at the middle school level for three years. She then moved to
elementary administration for the remainder of her career for twelve years, three of which
were served as a principal with Edison Schools.
One of the things that is special about Leesa is her love for children and her capacity for
forming relationships with them. Another is her drive to ensure that they understand the
importance of education. She also has a great passion for the outdoors and nature. She draws her source of energy from communing with nature.
Leesa plans to begin volunteer work and continue to camp, hike, craft, garden, read, RV, spend time with grandchildren and family, as well as travel in her retirement. The most exciting event looming on the horizon is her dream retirement vacation which is a 20-day trek in Nepal. Yes, folks she is going to Katmandu (reference Bob Seeger).
Mountainside will miss her talents, energy, wisdom, and grace Happy trails to Leesa!!!!
